KATANA Cover Reveal!!!

At long last I'm thrilled to be able to share with you the cover for KATANA. I don't think there's anything quite so surreal as seeing the cover for your book the first time. People, I am in love. It's everything I hoped it would be; bad ass girl with swords, cherry blossom, and kanji symbol. Not to mention that this particular kanji symbol is the kanji symbol for katana. How cool is that? *happy tears*


I just don't have the words for all of the emotions running through me. I can only humbly say "Thank you" to everyone who has helped get to where I am today.

    I just had to come back. I want to point out specifically everything that I love about this:

    Calligraphy. Not just weak typeset Kanji/Hanzi, but a character where you can actually see the strokes, and with a cool texture in the ink. Rittou is a great Kanji character, too, because it really looks like a blade. Almost like visual onomatopoeia or something.

    Cherry blossoms. They're one of the most beautiful trees around, but I love that they went with red here. Cherry blossoms are so much more famous for being pink, but the red works awesomely here.

    Niten Ichi-ryū. Most people would probably assume a Kunoichi would wield only one sword. Obviously you know better, but thankfully your cover designer does too.

    Slashes through the title. Subtle, but it's a cool text effect.

    The chick. I love that she's hot, with bad-ass boots, but that she isn't looking at us. Perfect.
