As I waited for my friends to arrive, I decided to get started on the small stuff like the tattoo and fixing the wig.
I wanted to add more pictures that showed all of the steps I took on becoming Bellatrix that final night but, unfortunately, I ran out of time. I'll skip to the final result.
In the end, I was really happy with how everything turned out. The corset gapped a little and I would have preferred for the silver swirlys to be embroidered instead of painted. Heck, in a perfect world I would have used a more expensive fabric that would have moved better but for the price I think it was a win.
Here's the rest of the crew (because it only makes sense for Bellatrix and Lucius to hang with Harry and Hermione.)
Here's a better picture of Lucius (who happens to be my brother.)
And me at the theatre.
Here's another one of all of us in the theatre.
I think my favorite part was, after the movie, we decided to get something to eat. In the restaurant the waiter came up to the table and asked, "So guys, how was the movie?" And without rehearsing both my brother and I said, "What movie?"
That's why we're related. :)
So, what did you do for the premier? Are you having mad Potter withdrawals? I know I am.
LOL that's hilarious (the part about you and your bro) :D Priceless LOL You look AWESOME!!!! Seriously, I am in awe of your mad skills :D\
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie yet. I'm very sad about that. I need a babysitter LOL
you looked GREAT!! Don't sweat the small stuff about your costume. Like they say in the theatre, from forty feet away, no one will know. Overall it was an EPIC WIN!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic. Wow, what a great job you did.

Hah. Brill.
You look amazing, Cole! I didn't dress up, but I enjoyed people watching at the midnight show. I love how everyone gets dressed up. Though my sister observed at our theater: The Potter premier is a lot like Halloween. Some girls think it's an excuse to dress up like a slut. HAHA. The movie was awesome, and I'm totally having withdrawls. I'm feeling like reading the books again!
ReplyDeleteWow - they totally should've cast you instead of Helen Bonham-Carter. I bet she doesn't make her own costumes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the movie. I have part 1 to watch on DVD, so that Audrey and I can dash off to the cinema to catch part 2. Alas, we won't be in costume, but my glasses are held together with tape, which kind of counts, right?
You guys looked amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'll probably get kicked out of the Cole Ninja Fan Club for this, but I am one of the few on this planet who is not excited about seeing HP. And I likely won't go out of my way to see it either. Having said that, your outfit is an awesome display of fandom and it sounds like you enjoyed the whole process of making and wearing it. Love the unplanned response by you two. That's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteNow please do not ask for my member card back. It would be a crushing blow to my fragile reality.
Thank you so much for the kind words, everyone.
ReplyDeleteEric - Ha! You could never get kicked out of the fan club.
You look amazing(ly creepy)!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to say I haven't seen it yet. We're going to Seattle next week to visit my sister, so my whole family has been holding out so that we can see it together while we're there. Twice.
It's been agonizing!
