F**kin' Perfect

Okay, I've heard the song by Pink on the radio a bunch of times. I've always liked it, but I never watched th video until recently. I kinda felt like I was punched in the gut when I watched it because that was me. It's like watching my life unfold in four minutes. If you change out the painting for writing and the cocaine use for other bad things...

Even the bear...Here's a picture of mine that I just gave to my daughter a couple months back.
It's all serandipitous considering I'm now working on my Dear Teen Me post. I don't know why but I feel like the universe is telling me to reflect on my teen years for some reason. Which is bad for me considering my teen years were the least enjoyable years of my life. But if I've learned one thing in life, it's that if you ignore the gentle tapping on the shoulder by the universe, those taps are going to turn into a bitch slap.

Anyway, if you'd like to see the video in question, I've posted it below. Warning: there is graphic language, violence, and sexual conduct.

I'm curious, has anyone else come across a book, video, or movie that perfectly summed up their life?

  1. Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas. I wish I would have had that book in high school.
    And I love this song!

  2. Okay. So I know I'm like a week late to this. But still.

You're not supposed to make me cry at work.

I know you know we have pretty similar pasts, and while this song doesn't fit what I went through perfectly, the emotion of it does. I had so many people telling me I was a bad person (or whatever), it was really liberating to break free (make a lot of mistakes), grow up, and then prove them wrong.

All the "adults" who thought they knew best can suck it now.

Good for you Cole. You rock.
